Founded in 1980 to educate academically talented students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, NCSSM needed to modernize their brand. REVERED was tasked with developing an updated brand identity, beginning with a logo that captured the essence and the mission of the school while also being true to its North Carolina roots.
Working in close collaboration with NCSSM, the team created an approachable and open-minded logo that visually expressed how the school was advancing public education. The design represents the symbiotic relationship of math and science while also bringing to mind the flowering dogwood, North Carolina’s state flower. From that, a brand identity and color palette were created, enabling NCSSM to effectively communicate that they are fueling a new generation of inspiration and discovery.
